Lost In My Own World
About two months ago, I had the urge to create a new self-portrait series. The ideas initially started off with a renaissance theme, a recreation of the likes of Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam in a way, though it didn’t quite fully come to fruition as I had desired. Most of my concepts were scrapped after I got to editing. I tried creating a world of clouds on which different versions of me were placed and posed, telling a story of rebirth from the earth up into the heavens; but I just couldn’t seem to bring that story in my head to life in a way that I thought worthy of pursuing further. Maybe it was my compositing skill. Maybe it was the images. Who knows.
I did manage to create this small collection of photos though, and I am happy I at least created something I enjoy and am proud of. Having creatively struggled through this project and not necessarily finding the direction and proper execution to tell the original vision and story, I’m proud that I was able to create something despite it all. One day, I’ll revisit the story of a Renaissance rebirth story, but that will be for another time.
