Where the Story Starts

Freelance & contract videography and video production for brands, organizations, and creatives across the Portland metro and Willamette Valley.

Capturing the Story

Every video starts before the camera turns on. It starts with a conversation about what actually matters here: the people, the moment, the reason this is worth filming at all. My job is to be there for it and bring back footage that still feels true when it's watched back later.

I've spent over a decade doing exactly that, filming everything from garden documentaries to campus events to branded promotional content, always with the same goal: capture something real, not just something usable.

Based in Portland, I work on projects throughout the Willamette Valley and greater Portland metro, including Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Salem, McMinnville, and Vancouver, Washington. If your project falls outside that range, reach out. I'm happy to talk through what's possible.

I work with people who need their story captured on-site, not just recorded.

Behind the Camera

The best footage usually comes from paying attention rather than directing every second of it. I plan every shoot carefully, but I stay ready to catch the moment that wasn't on the shot list, because that's usually the one that ends up mattering most.

Most of what makes a shoot go well is more than just the gear. It's staying calm on a tight schedule, being easy to work with on-site, and making sure the people in front of the camera feel comfortable enough to be themselves. I bring the same approach whether it's a single interview or a full day of event coverage.
